Dig for gemstones in Southeastern Connecticut’s only replica silver mine, Jackpot Mine. Ring the bell at the entrance to call for one of our miners and start your journey into a true replica of a candle-lit silver mine.
Equipped with a souvenir bucket, you will join a team of junior miners and use your hands to dig for crystals and minerals that are hidden among the mines.
Yes, you get to keep everything you find! Once out of the mine, analyze your treasures at our mineral identifying tables before taking them home in your cool souvenir buckets.
Feeling extra adventurous? Choose the Jackpot Mine Deluxe Package which includes a miner’s helmet with working LED light you can use to dig in our special dark mine like a real miner. The helmet is yours to keep and available in assorted colors. This is one of Mystic Country’s favorite children’s attractions – be sure to wear your Discovery Depot miner’s helmet with pride!
Jackpot Mine is open every day during the summer and every weekend during the winter months as well (weather permitting) as on most school vacations and holidays (except Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day).
